Domaine Mittnacht - AOC Alsace Grand Cru Pinot Gris "Rosacker" 2015

Founded in 1958, Domaine Mittnacht is a family-run estate led by the charming couple of Christophe and Yuka Mittnacht. They farm some of the finest vineyards around the town of Hunawihr. Christophe was an early pioneer of the biodynamic movement, believing that biologically complex, complete soils are essential for producing elegant and terroir driven wines. The domaine was officially certified biodynamic in 1999 – one of the very first in all of Alsace.

The Rosacker is located in the north of Hunawihr, at an altitude of 260 to 330 meters. Exposed East-South-East, its soil is heavy, marly-limestone and rich in magnesium. Another witness of this great terroir, this vine full of promises ! The Pinot Gris Rosacker 2015 has a golden yellow colour. The nose is dominated by fruty aromas (mirabelle plum, pineapple, pear) with a touch of hazelnut. On the palate, this well-balanced wine opens on orchard fruit, honey flavors and linger on mineral and smoky notes with a beautiful lenght.
