Castagna - Adam's Rib Red 2019

The Castagna's mission, is to make wine which is the expression of the place where it is grown, stylistically making classic old-world wine with new-world fruit.The vineyard is fully certified both organic and biodynamic and they are one of only four Australian producers invited to be a member of La Renaissance des Appellations an organic association founded by biodynamic pioneer Nicolas Joly which invite exclusively organic producers with outstanding quality and commitment.

Adam's rip red, is made mostly with syrah and nebbiolo with a minor portion of sangiovese. All estate-grown. It works for both its savouriness and for its fruitiness. It’s all woodsy spice and blue-black berries and while there isn’t a great deal of tannin it feels well framed and sustained. It’s medium weight, rises on blood orange acidity, cranberry juice flavours.
