Located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, north of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Jean-Michel Giboulot has 12 hectares of vines in the finest appellations (Beaune 1er Cru, Pommard, Savigny 1er Cru, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru, with a majority of Pinot Noir). The vines are organically grown. The vinification is traditional with little intervention from the winemaker, using stainless steel and wood, and controlled temperatures.
En Brescul 2019 colour is a rich, dark crimson with mauve highlights. It has fragrances of blackberry, bilberry, and gooseberry, as well as cherry pit and ripe plum. Wild and bush tones frequently develop with age. When reach maturity, it exhibits notes of leather, chocolate, and pepper. It requires time to properly open up and reveal its texture, firm yet delicate structure, fruit-filled palate, and chewy tannins, which will have been appropriately smoothed.
