The term "Col d'Orcia" refers to the hill that overlooks the Orcia River. The Orcia River runs through the region of Brunello di Montalcino, and the farm's name is inextricably related to the actual place where the vines are grown. Col d'Orcia's purpose is to make the greatest wines possible from the remarkable mix of land and climate in this region of Montalcino.
Rosso di Montalcino is the house's rising star, appearing in a rich ruby red with violet undertones. Fruity with classic Sangiovese red flavours, fruity tempered with wood spices. Good flavour structure, gentle and smooth tannins, and a refreshing acidity. Aftertaste is sapid, lingering, and fruity.
