Piedmont experienced a year of balance in 2015. Snowfall in January and spring precipitation supplied enough water supplies at Andrea Oberto's top site ROCCHE DELL'ANNUNZIATA's calcareous marl soils. Thus, the Nebbiolo was able to withstand the summer heat in one of La Morra's most classic cru areas while maturing wonderfully. And with perfect acidity and a superb tannic quality. At this point, the scent has black tobacco, coffee, and cedar wood, as well as restrained sweet blueberries and wild berries, and the tannins are still quite gripping. The ancient Barolo concept holds true: those who can wait patiently will be amply rewarded.
