Vin de Soif Syrah 2021

Vin de Soif is a small-batch wine project focusing on creating well-made, organically farmed wines with a minimalist hands-off approach. Each release carries inspiration from Rhone varietals honing in on forging interesting and textural wines that retain integrity to their individual terroir yet delivering on freshness and drinkability. The vines are from single-site vineyards sitting on Cambrian soil, an igneous rock pushed up by volcanic thrust approximately 500 million years ago - a super calcium rich soil with incredible water retention. The result is super-concentrated fruit that retains varietal and regional integrity. All wines remain unfiltered and unfined with only a small amount of sulphur added at bottling if required.

Indigenous yeasts were used for the fermentation in open stainless steel tanks before being transferred to old French oak barriques for maturation. Unfined and unfiltered. Shows bright red forest berries with hints of fresh picked herbs and spice. The palate is vibrant and fresh with light, supple tannins and cleansing acidity.
